Chipping Campden Market House

My inspiration to paint Chipping Campden Market House came after, I thought about places in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. These were ones to paint that tourists might like.  Afterwards, I had an idea about Cotswold Market Houses
Here I’ve brought out the colours of the market house. I started to paint the background. Then I thought I was wrong to of done so. Since I’ve done one without the background. Now I think this one with the background is the better of the two

Chipping Campden is a stunning Gloucestershire town located in the Cotswolds AONB.  The High Street has many fine Cotswold stone buildings that date back to the 14th Century. The town made its wealth from the wool trade

The Market House is Grade l listed. It didn’t get its wealth from the wool trade. Sir Baptist Hicks, a local merchant, and benefactor built it in 1627. It was designed for local farmers and merchants to sell their produce in and as a shelter from the weather.  The National Trust has owned and maintained the Market House since the 1940’s. Next to the Market House, a hand carved marker stone indicates the Cotswold Way National Trail. Ramblers can walk the approximate 100 mile trail from Chipping Campden to Bath
